Race Rules

1) General:  This is a recreational contest.  The first objective is to have fun.  for those of us that let competition get the best of us, we're bring special waivers and boxing gloves.  The course is marked and there will be multiple officials on the course (some can second a referees).  They are to direct runners and record checkpoints.  Listen carefully to their directions, or you may be disqualified.

2) TC Fitness Challengers who are disqualified will still receive their one (1) Participation Point.

3) Selling or trading of Bib Numbers is not allowed.  I have no idea who would do this, but it is a pretty standard rule.

4) Bib numbers shall be positioned front top center MUST be worn throughout the entire race. Those of you who wish to run shirtless must pin the number to your chest.  High strength epoxy may be substituted, as long as when the number is removed, some flesh comes with it. The number MUST be visible at all times. Do not cut or fold the runner number. Do not deface running numbers with stickers, markers, or any writing.

5) The course has some areas of gravel and grass and does not accommodate wheelchair racers.

6) Jogging strollers are allowed, prviding they are not motorized.  Wheeled devices including but not limited to walking strollers, roller skates, bicycles, scooters and skateboards are not permitted on the course.

7) Headsets for MP-3 players, I-pods, walkman-type devices or the like, are strongly discouraged.  Earbuds that do not fully cover earways or obstruct traffic noise are fine.  IF YOU DO NOT HEAR AN OFFICIAL’S DIRECTION BECAUSE YOU ARE UTILIZING A DEVICE, YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED.

8) Walkers are welcome on the race course.

9) Competitors who accept any assistance from any other person may be disqualified.  No piggyback rides.

10) There will be an official timing system in place.

11) You may be disqualified if there is no record of you passing through each of the checkpoints.

12) Protests related to actions of any race official or runner will be accepted only in written form (Comment Form). Verbal protests will not receive responses.  We may nod and share your outrage, but don't plan on us doing anything about it. All decisions of the race director are binding.

13) Pets (horses, dogs, cats or other animals) will not be allowed on the course on race day.

At the start, we will attempt to organize groups by their mile per minute times in an attempt to put the fastest runners in front.
