1)
Rule #1
– Have Fun!
2)
Make sure
you warm-up properly! Not being
warmed up is the number one cause of injury.
3)
The
contest will move along very quickly. Please
listen carefully to all instructions and be ready to run!
If you miss your Division Heat, you will run in a heat all by yourself as
we all heckle you!
4)
This is a
timed, head-to-head race. Timing is as
accurate as can be with stopwatches, but it is your position relative to others
in your competitive heat that determines placing.
5)
Registration
starts at 8:30 AM. Races will begin
at 9:00 AM, starting with Miscellaneous Runners.
6)
Miscellaneous
Runners: This is a non-competitive division for individuals that do not
feel comfortable running head-to-head and want to run for time only.
All Miscellaneous Runners will be placed after those running in competitive
heats in their division, based on their time. Miscellaneous Runners
will receive one participation point as a minimum. Miscellaneous Runners should
arrive and be ready to run at 9:00 AM! There
will be no specific grouping for Miscellaneous Runners, so if you get stuck in a
slow heat don’t argue with or blame the Start Judge!
The Start Judge is charged with filling all lanes to move the contest
along. You don’t get to pick who
you want to run with!
7)
Competitive
Runners will run for time in division heats after the Miscellaneous Runners are
finished. If a Runner does not run
in their heat as a result of arriving late, they may be included in another
division and run for time, HOWEVER, the late runner will be placed after all
runners in the Competitive Heat. Once again, this is a head-to-head competition.
8)
The order
for Competitive Runners is as follows: F12, F70, M12, M70, F13, F60, M13, M60,
F18, F50, M18, M50, F30, F40, M30, M40.
9)
Results
will be announced throughout the contest as division heats are completed. Report
to the medal stand if you hear your name called.
10)
The start
judge may combine divisions to fill the lanes.
11)
1/8”
and ¼” Spikes are allowed. Starting
blocks are allowed.
12)
Runners
must stay in lanes or risk disqualification.
If any runner interferes with another, they will be disqualified.
13)
Runners
are allowed one false start.
14)
All
official decisions, particularly regarding timing, are final.
All complaints must be in writing.
15)
Only
athletes are allowed on the Athletic Field (fenced in area).
If you are finished competing, please observe the meet from behind the
fence.
Good luck!
